Gijón, Spain (PortSEurope) January 8, 2018 – Gijón port handled some 20.2 million tonnes of cargo in the first eleven months of 2017, up 17.3% on the year.
With these numberss, Gijón port ranked the ninth port in terms of cargo traffic, after Algeciras, Valencia, Barcelona, Cartagena, Bilbao, Huelva, Tarragona and Las Palmas.
On the other hand, Avilés port registered an interannual decrease of 0.15% to 4.34 million tons.
The total cargo traffic of Spanish ports in the first eleven months of 2017 amounted to 485 million tonnes, up 1.7% on the year.
