Genoa, Italy (PortSEurope) May 12, 2019 – Giuseppe Santoro Srl has signed an agreement with Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Occidentale (AdSP – Western Ligurian Sea Port Authority) for a 25-year concession (11,700 m²) to transfer its activities from Ponte Parodi to Calata Gadda.
Calata Gadda is a more suitable location for Santoro, in which the company plans to invest €1.35 million in the next 15 months. This will include maintenance facilities for its own vessels, which will help improve the environmental services the company provides to the port.
AdSP President Paolo Emilio Signorini said that the deal was another step in the aim to promote multi-year concessions at the port, and reorganising port spaces. Ponte Parodi is expected to be redeveloped and returned to urban and tourist functions.
Santoro provides services in the field of ecological and environmental protection, covering the whole cycle of management of waste produced by ships and the different private and public users, through its port waste reception facility.
