Greek finance ministry to review PPA shipbuilding development application

Piraeus, Greece (PortSEurope) June 14, 2020 – The Greek Council of State (CoE), the country’s highest administrative court, has annulled an earlier ministerial decision blocking the request by Piraeus Port Authority SA (PPA) to construct a shipbuilding and repair zone at Perama, west of Greece’s main port. The request will now go back to the Finance Ministry to review. The facility is part of the
PPA masterplan for the port and promoted by PPA owner China’s COSCO Shipping Ports Limited, which is developing Piraeus into a leading port in the Mediterranean and an access point for Chinese-manufactured good being exported to Europe. Copyright (C) PortSEurope. All Rights Reserved. 2020.
