Livorno, Italy (PortSEurope) February 1, 2021 – Luciano Guerrieri has been appointed president of Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Settentrionale (AdSP – North Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority). The authority is responsible for the ports of Livorno, Piombino, Porto di Portoferraio, Porto di Capraia Isola, Porto di Rio Marina (Elba) and Pontile di Cavo (last three Elba Island). Luciano Guerrieri was president and extraordinary
commissioner of the port of Piombino, president of Porto 2000 in Livorno, vice president of Assoporti and Federlogistica, and mayor for two terms of the city of Piombino. The new president plans to carry out projects to upgrade the infrastructural capacities of the Tuscan ports, in particular the Darsena Europa for the port of Livorno, which – after the new Genoa breakwater – represents one of the most important investments in the port area. Connectivity problems in the area remain to be addressed as regards both rail and road infrastructures. Livorno and Piombino are directly involved in both the development of the Pontremolese railway line (with financing still to be found) and the Tyrrhenian motorway, in addition to the various upgrading works concerning the adaptation of the shapes both on the railway lines towards Bologna and Florence and other works roads and roads.
