Hapag-Lloyd inaugurates its own representation in Morocco

Casablanca, Morocco (PortSEurope) September 16, 2021 – The Germany shipping company Hapag-Lloyd today has opened its own offices in Morocco. The headquarters is in Casablanca and with two satellite offices in Tangier and Agadir. There are 47 shipping experts serving customers in Morocco. Morocco is a platform for the export of fresh produce and Hapag-Lloyd plans to increase its business in the refrigerated container transport
sector. Morocco exports also minerals, chemicals, textiles, and food products, especially to European countries. Imports consist mainly of electronics, spare parts, and food products. Hapag-Lloyd has a 10% stake in container terminal 3 (TC3) at the port of Tanger-Med 2, located in one of the fastest growing ports around the Mediterranean Sea. It also supports a highly developed hinterland of industrial parks with manufacturers and logistics companies, all using the port to export their products. “The Moroccan economy has grown steadily over the last years. Many Moroccan customers have already experienced Hapag-Lloyd´s services. With the opening of our new representation in the country, we strive to meet customers´ requirements for proximity and quality of service”, says Juan Pablo Richards, Senior Managing Director Region South Europe of Hapag-Lloyd.
