Hili Company wins tender for Durres container terminal

Durrës, Albania (PortSEurope) July 5, 2021 – Mariner Adriatic has won the tender for the management and operation of Durres Container Terminal in Albania. Mariner is a specialist investor, developer and operator of seaport container terminals. It is part of Hili Company, which also owns Baltic Container Terminal, which holds the concession for the leading container terminal in Riga, Latvia, and is a 50% partner
in Terminal Intermodale Venezia with Mediterranean Shipping Company, which it operates in Venice, Italy. Durres is Albania’s primary seaport and the container terminal handles over 90% of the country’s container traffic. The port also serves as a port for neighbouring landlocked countries – including Kosovo, Serbia and North Macedonia. Edward Hili, Chief Executive Officer of Hili Company, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the management and operation of Durres Container Terminal.
