Huelva, Spain (PortSEurope) May 24, 2918 – The Board of Directors of Autoridad Portuaria de Huelva (Port Authority of Huelva) has granted the administrative concession for the management and operation of the construction and operation of an integral service unit for transport located in the Industrial Park of Punta del Sebo in the service area of the Port of Huelva to Huelva Área Logística Integral SL.
This concession joins the recent award for the realization of the works of access and road reorganization to the future Zona de Actividades Logísticas (ZAL) of Punta del Sebo, to the company Detea SA, in order to execute a new access for heavy traffic to the Polygon of Punta del Sebo from the H-30, which allows to connect the industries installed in the polygon, and the future logistics area, with the Outer Port and the General Network of State Roads.
It is hoped that these two contracts will aid the development of the ZAL, promoting economic growth and developing a global logistics node.
The president of the Port Authority of Huelva, José Luis Ramos has pointed out the degree of importance of this multimodal strategy, which is consolidating the Port of Huelva within the international logistics network and that “will give way to new economic sectors that stimulate growth economic and job creation in Huelva and its area of influence”.
The development of a Logistics Activities Zone in Huelva is one of the initiatives that the Port of Huelva is developing in logistics, along with others such as the expansion of the container storage area of the South Dock or the development of a supply system for cold at low cost that will allow support for the export of important sectors such as agri-food.
