Huelva, Spain (PortSEurope) August 20, 2018 – Huelva port plans to reinforce the security of the port area by carrying out an expansion of the perimeter fence.
In 2016, Autoridad Portuaria de Huelva (APH – Port Authority of Huelva) carried out an analysis of the existing needs in terms of protection and security, as a result of which the installation of a perimeter security system was carried out last year, in order to “delimit and protect the perimeter and access to the outer port”, explained the port authority.
Now, the entity wants to complete the installation and provide the perimeter that defines the Service Area of the Outer Port with a greater degree of protection.
For this, the placement of security fences in unprotected areas will be carried out, as well as the protection of the port with sensors, the installation of cameras adapted to the needs of the harbour and the installation of fibre optic network to cover the communication needs.
