Huelva, Spain (PortSEurope) December 4, 2018 – The Association for the Commercial Promotion of the Port of Huelva, HuelvaPort, and Autoridad Portuaria de Huelva (APH – Port Authority of Huelva) have created a Customs and Customs Forum to improve the speeding up of merchandise inspection services in the face of the general traffic at the port.

The Customs and Paraduan Forum has been set up to analyze the needs of users and the market, especially in view of the growth that the port is registering with the opening of new ro-ro traffic lines and ro-pax with the Canary Islands.

Among the measures agreed upon in this first meeting was to create a communication channel on the HuelvaPort website to receive suggestions and incidents related to this with the objective of referring them to the competent authorities and offering them a solution as quickly as possible.

The Customs and Customs Forum will meet every quarter to analyze the suggestions and the incidents received, as well as other matters related to customs inspections and paraduanal services. After the meeting held in November, the forum will hold other meetings in the months of February, September and December 2019.

During the first meeting of the Forum, which has been coordinated by the Technical Office of HuelvaPort, led by the Commercial Director of the Port Authority of Huelva, Manuel Vega, representatives of the port community and of customs and paraduanarian organizations have also participated.
