Ibiza, Spain (PortSEurope) February 8, 2019 – Ibiza port will have moorings for small boats on the island, which will be located in the area where the boats of Formentera currently dock, the mayor of Ibiza, Rafa Ruiz, and the president of the Port Authority of the Balearics (APB), Joan Gual de Torrella, said.
Gual de Torrella explained that the project will not be a reality “for three years” because the plan to delimit Port Spaces and Uses (DEUP) must first be approved by the Ministry of Public Works.
“But the important thing is to be clear about the diagnosis and the solution”, Gual de Torrella has said, which responds to the “problem” of lack of space that entrepreneurs in the nautical sector have.
In addition to the moorings, Gual de Torrella recalled that the dry dock will also be moved to the commercial dock, which will generate two solutions to the problems of nautical entrepreneurs: “a space to moor their boats, and a larger space for a boathouse that is more competitive”.
