Sagunto, Spain (PortSEurope) February 8, 2019 – Intersagunto Terminales, container terminal of the Alonso Group at Sagunto harbour, has become the first terminal in a port managed by the Valencia port authority to obtain the Authorized Economic Operator (OEA) certificate in its full version.
After a long period of audits, sources of the Alonso Group indicated that the operational, logistical and information processes have been adapted to be able to know the customs condition of the goods deposited in the terminal. The objective is to be able to comply with all the requirements that the new Customs Code of the Union (CAU) requires.
In addition to the new OAS certification, Intersagunto Terminales has three of the most demanding standards at European level: ISO 9001 in quality management, ISO 14001 relative to the environment and ISO 50001 on energy efficiency.
Intersagunto Terminales has a direct connection to the main ports of the country and a total area of 106,677 m², as well as a maneuvering area of 19,100 m². It has 180 reefer connections and a berthing line of 643 metres, with a capacity of 190,000 TEUs annually.
