Israeli’s Haifa port increase TEU traffic in 2020 by 6%

Haifa, Israel (PortSEurope) January 27, 2021 – The northern Israeli city of Haifa, handled a total capacity of about 1.47 million TEU in 2020, an increade of 6% on the previous 12 months. The greatest increase was in unloading full import containers, which reached 5.94 million TEU in 2020 (5.44 million). Exported containers remained stable at 362,000 TEU. State-owned ports privatisation and the construction of
new docks are part of the Israeli government strategy to modernise port infrastructure, reduce costs and attract transhipment of cargo. Haifa port assets are included.
