Israel’s Haifa port receives first UAE cargo vessel

Haifa, Israel (PortSEurope) October 14, 2020 – Haifa port as welcomed the first cargo vessel from the UAE to visit the port. The MSC Paris ship docked two days’ ago at the port. The Israeli Foreign Ministry described this as an historical moment, adding that it was the first commercial line between the two countries. Last September, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the foreign
ministers of the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed agreements formalizing diplomatic relations between Israel and two Gulf Arab nations. this has led to further corporate agreements linked to improving commercial relations between the two countries. Earlier this month, DP World, a global supply chain solutions provider, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Israel’s oldest banking corporation, Bank Leumi, to enhance trade and logistics in Israel and promote the flow of trade between Israel and the wider region. This are both signs of a rapidly developing commercial relationship between the two countries. Copyright (C) PortSEurope. All Rights Reserved. 2020.
