Messina, Sicily, Italy (PortSEurope) November 9, 2018 – Italian company Coedmar has signed a €72 million ($81.7 million) contract for the construction of the new Tremestieri port in eastern Sicily.
The contract was signed with a delay of five years, as a ruling by the Council of State was expected to confirm the legal validity of the contract with Coedmar.
The overhead pier will be 320 metres long and there will be a 34,000 square metre storage area, capable of holding 745 cars, 424 trucks and 67 semitrailers.
“Our company is famous for speed in building ports, our job is to do it well and soon, I guarantee that we will not waste time,” the owner of Coedmar, Albino Boscolo, said.
