Damietta, Egypt (PortSEurope) November 3, 2019 – Admiral Walid Awad, Chairman of the Damietta Port Authority (DAP), received a delegation from the Italian port of Bari, Italian Chamber of Commerce and a number of Italian logistics companies to discuss the possibility of cooperation in the field of supplying ships with liquified natural gas (LNG) and necessary infrastructure.
Local representatives of the port community and a number of agencies and companies operating in the port presented the port’s LNG capacities, together with efforts of the Ministry of Transport to convert Egyptian ports into green ports for the positive impact on the environment.
The visit followed the second forum of Egyptian-Italian dialogue organized by the Maritime Transport Sector and the Italian Embassy in Cairo.
