
Koper port registers record cruise passenger numbers

Koper, Slovenia (PortSEurope) October 25, 2019 – By the end of this year, Koper port forecasts a total of around 115,000 passengers arriving on 66 vessels at the port via cruise ships. This exceeds the previous highest number of 108,000 in 2011. In 2019, the port expects a total of 72 calls of passenger ships, a little less compared to 2011 (78 ships). The ships
are getting bigger and there are more premium operators who call port of Koper on regular basis; Azamara, Silversea, Oceania, Regent Seven Seas, Crystal Cruises and Viking, to name some of them. The majority of the passenger’s come from UK, Germany and North America. Another successful season is the result of good cooperation between the local and Slovenian tourist board, tour operators and Luka Koper as the terminal operator.
