Koper, Slovenia (PortSEurope) April 15, 2019 – Koper port handled 5.919 million tonnes of cargo in the first quarter of 2019, down from 6.077 million tonnes in the like period of the previous year.

Container traffic rose 3% on the year to 245,983 TEUs, while the number of vehicles serviced declined by 17% to 169,496 units.

The net sales revenues of Luka Koper d.d. went up 8% year-on-year to €59.61 million ($67.4 million).

In the coming months, the port expects larger vessels to be deployed on one of the two weekly ocean services which are connecting Koper with the Far East.
