La Chiusa di Pontedoro to start construction of Piombino tourist port in 2019

Piombino, Italy (PortSEurope) April 4, 2019 – Italian cooperative La Chiusa di Pontedoro arl plans to start the construction of a tourist port in Piombino in the autumn of 2019 and complete it in 2021. La Chiusa di Pontedoro has signed an agreement for the construction of the port with Sales Spa Costruzioni. The port will have 600 berths, a fishing area with spaces dedicated to fish
and mussel farming, nine hectares for shipbuilding and an area reserved for boating. “Our position is unique – directly on the sea. This means that a construction site can build its orders on the spot and immediately put them in the water, rather than fractioning their construction due to lack of space,” the cooperative esaid.
