Las Palmas, Spain (PortSEurope) June 24, 2019 – The total number of cruise passengers at the ports under the management of Las Palmas port authority is expected to grow to 1.5 million during the next cruise season.

A total of 1,497,000 passengers are expected to be serviced at the ports of La Luz in Gran Canaria, Puerto del Rosario and Arrecife next season, up by 3.11% on the year.

La Luz will be the port that experiences fewer changes in the number of passengers during the 2019-2020 season. A total of 745,000 cruise passengers will be handled at the harbour, a volume that remains practically stable.

The growth of the number of cruise passengers in the province is largely based on good forecasts for Arrecife port, where the largest increase in the next season will be recorded. The port is expected to receive a total of 520,000 cruise passengers next season, 7.05% more than in the current season. In Fuerteventura, as in Gran Canaria, growth will be more discreet: 5,254 more passengers, up 2.32%.
