Lattakia, Syria (PortSEurope) June 21, 2018 – Lattakia port recorded revenues of SYP 10 billion ($19.4 million/€16.8 million) since the beginning of the year, while the revenues of Tartous port amount of SYP 4 billion ($7.8 million/€6.7 million), the Syrian transport ministry said.
The renewal of maritime certificates and securing the entry of Syria to the White List and the granting and renewal of marine certificates for workers had a good effect in activating the sector, the operation of ships that have been docked since the beginning of the war in the ports of Tartous and Lattakia.
Syrian government works to improve the berths and facilitate the port operation as well as the construction of a ramp for ro-ro ships and the rehabilitation of the broken wall of Lattakia port.
