Livorno Terminals Srl assumes control of Porto di Livorno 2000

Livorno, Italy (PortSEurope) May 6, 2019 – Livorno Terminals Srl, the new company formed by Sinergest, LTM, Moby, and Marinvest, has signed the contract to acquire 66% of Porto di Livorno 2000, the company that manages the cruise and ferry traffic in Livorno port. Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Settentrionale (AdSP – North Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority) has reduced its shareholding from 72.8%
to 34%, held jointly with Camera di Commercio (Chamber of Commerce), which itself previously held 27.2%. Livorno Terminals Srl offered €10.74 million for the purchase and has committed to investing €91 million for new infrastructures. The concession period is 30 years. Moby and Sinergest are controlled by the Onorato group. The AdSP sees the sale of Porto di Livorno 2000 as a way to develop cruise traffic to benefit the port and the city. Porto di Livorno 2000 was founded in 1997 by the then Port Authority and coordinates the passenger port of Livorno, both ferry and cruise traffic. Copyright (C) PortSEurope.
