Gijón, Spain (PortSEurope) June 20, 2019 – LonjaGijón-Musel, a company controlled by Port Authority of Gijón which operates and administers the fishing market, will carry out a capital restructuring to avoid liquidation of the company due to the accumulated losses.
The company plans to issue 213,600 new shares at a time when a business group has expressed interest in entering into the company.
Spanish national ports agency Puertos del Estado authorised at the end of last year the port authority to grant a participative loan to Lonja to avoid its liquidation, on condition that it sold a stake of 46.27% within five years.
LonjaGijón-Musel, SA carries out its activities, through administrative concession, in facilities belonging to the Port Authority of Gijón.
Its shareholders are: Port Authority of Gijón, Wholesale Fish Association of the Principality of Asturias, Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Gijón, Regional Society for the Promotion of the Principality of Asturias, Association of Retail Fish Entrepreneurs of Asturias and Conservas Agromar SA
