Koper, Slovenia (PortSEurope) December 21, 2017 – The management board of Luka Koper, d.d., the operator of Koper port, has prepared the response to the findings of the PriceWaterhouseCoopers’s special audit report concerning the management of providers of port services. The special audit report will be on the agenda of the 29th General meeting of shareholders on 28 December 2017. The company hereby publishes only the key findings of the management of Luka Koper:
The management board of Luka Koper, d.d. emphasizes that the special audit report about providers of port services:
- did not find any unlawful conduct in the business,
- notes that the company has a verifiable system for ordering port services and an established supervision system,
- notes that the existing system for ordering port services is in use for more than 20 years and the present management board inherited this system while improving it in favour of better business performance.
The special audit report draws attention to certain risks, which were already identified and the company has already taken measures to upgrade the system, which helped to reduce exposure to mentioned risks. It follows from the wording of the report that this is not made objectively and impartially, and emphasizes only the alleged inconsistencies and irregularities in the audited transactions of Luka Koper. According to all above, the company’s management believes that the report in the submitted content is not an appropriate expert basis for the verification and evaluation of the management of the audited transactions of the reviewed period.
