Gijón, Spain (PortSEurope) January 12, 2020 – Maersk Lines is to link its Z03 container service with the port of Gijón commencing January 23, linking the port to Algeciras which, in turn, is connected to Maersk’s global network.
“With the new service implemented in Gijón, which integrates this region into our global chain, our customers will benefit from an increasingly wide and flexible network of fast connections to meet their transportation needs,” said Diego Perdones, CEO of Maersk in the Western Mediterranean region.
“We hope that this service improves the efficiency and competitiveness of the transport options we offer to our customers in northern Spain, which come mainly from the industry, agriculture and FMCG sectors. The new service transcends the maritime sphere to include, among other products, various intermodal logistics and services and customs clearance”, added Diego Perdones.
