Almería, Spain (PortSEurope) June 11, 2018 – Danish shipping company Maersk Line has said it will start operating in the port of Almería after reaching a commercial agreement with the Cosentino Group, a producer and distributor of surfaces for architecture and design, based in Cantoria (Almeria).
Maersk plans to make the first movement of goods with Cosentino on June 18, the shipping company has reported. After this first performance, Cosentino will start operating from the port with Maersk with a weekly movement frequency.
So far, the Spanish multinational, which has been the main driver of the agreement operated mainly the maritime transport of its products from the ports of Algeciras, Valencia and, to a lesser extent, Cartagena.
In addition, thanks to the global reach of its network, the shipping company will be able to offer innovative logistics solutions to other Andalusian companies, contributing to the internationalisation of the products and raw materials produced.
The Danish company plans to implement new operational alternatives in the port that will increase efficiency throughout the entire supply chain.
Cosentino Group is a global, Spanish, family-owned company that produces and distributes high value innovative surfaces for the world of design and architecture.
