Malta Marittima is a government agency whose main objective is to bring industry and government stakeholders together to focus and promote the continued and enhanced development of the marine and maritime industries in the Maltese Islands. As Malta is strategically located along main Mediterranean trade routes, particularly being the first port of call into the EU for East-West bound shipping trade, there is potential for Malta to establish itself as a leading logistics hub, providing higher quality and competitive services to the value and supply chains. This is also reaffirmed by the announced plans for the extension of the Suez Canal, which will increase maritime traffic in the Mediterranean. Source: Malta Marittima Copyright (C) PortSEurope.
