Venice, Italy (PortSEurope) June 10, 2019 – Marghera port needs tax incentives for new companies, the president of Ente della Zona Industriale, an association of operators of the port, Sergio Lucchi, has said.
“Actually, a free zone already exists in the port area, but it is too small, badly located and lacking sufficient tax advantages for those who use it.” Investors have asked for an enlargement of the area of the free port, Lucchi stated.
The port authority has already said that the enlargement of the free zone would be an optimal solution, but the government has done nothing so far, he added.
The port is managed by Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mare Adriatico Settentrionale (AdSP – Northern Adriatic Sea Port Authority).
