Marín, Spain (PortSEurope) December 29, 2017 – Marín port expects to book a record-high cargo traffic in 2017 for a third consecutive year.
The port handled 2.3 million tonnes of cargo in the first eleven months of 2017, up 10.5% on the year, and expects the throughput to reach 2.5 million tonnes by the end of December.
The main engine of the traffic growth at the port is the general cargo segment, which rose 30% in January-November. A total of 485 ships were handled at the port in the first eleven months of 2017.
An increase was registered in all traffic segments, but especially in core activities such as the handling of containers, fruits, paper pulp, wind power components and frozen fish.
