Marina Di Carrara Port Development To Receive CEF Funding

La Spezia, Italy (PortSEurope) October 4, 2019 – Autorita’di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Orientale (AdSP – Eastern Ligurian Sea Port Authority) is to receive funding from the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for the project called MARBLE “MARealy port Bridging Landside infrastructure”, related to the improvement of the accessibility of the port of Marina di Carrara.

The general objective of the MARBLE project is to improve the connection between the port of Marina di Carrara and the related road and rail transport networks. In particular, the financing obtained with the MARBLE project will cover part of the costs related to upgrading the multimodal port access system and the maritime works necessary for their safety.

The project will last about two years (December 2019 – September 2021) with a total cost of €11.312 million, of which € 2.262 will be financed by the CEF.
