METRANS to build new HUB terminal in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary

Budapest, Hungary (PortSEurope) September 13, 2021 – Intermodal transport provider METRANS is to invest €40 million ($47.19 million) in new HUB terminal in Western Hungary. The location was chosen as strategic site a transshipment hub of containers arriving from the ports of Koper, Rijeka, Trieste, and Piraeus. Arriving containers can then be forwarded to sites throughout Europe. On 09.09.2021, Peter Kiss, CEO of METRANS; Angela Titzrath, Chairwoman
of HHLA’s Executive Board; Péter Szijjártó, Hungarian Foreign and Trade Minister; László Vígh, Member of Parliament; Zoltán Balaicz, Mayor of Zalaegerszeg and Ladislav Nagy, Managing Director of METRANS Konténer Kft. laid the foundation stone of the new terminal that will create around 120 new jobs.
