Rabat, Morocco (PortSEurope) July 15, 2019 – From 25 to 27 June 2019, a delegation from Agence Nationale des Ports (ANP – National Ports Agency), led by the Director of the Port Training Institute, visited Chennai, India for the implementation work of the Framework Cooperation Agreement on Training that was signed on December 14, 2017 in New Delhi between ANP and the Indian Maritime University (IMU).
During this mission, the ANP delegation held a series of meetings at the IMU, Chennai Campus and Chennai Port Trust.
The Vice Chancellor of the IMU, the President of Chennai Port Trust and the Director of the Chennai Campus expressed their desire to collaborate with the ANP for the implementation of projects of common interests.
For his part, the Moroccan delegation has shown its experience in bilateral and tripartite cooperation and its desire to expand the areas of collaboration and encourage the exchange of expertise in the port area.
At the end of this mission, several areas of cooperation were studied and resulted in action plans to be carried out in the coming months, namely: (i) Short-term program design meeting the needs of both parties (ANP and ChPT), (ii) The exchange of expertise between the ANP and the ChPT and (iii) The establishment of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (IMU-ANP-ChPT) or bilateral agreement
ANP manages the Moroccan port system and IMU is dedicated to developing human resources for all arms of the maritime industry.
