Naples, Italy (PortSEurope) November 30, 2018 – Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Centro-Settentrionale (AdSP – Centre-North Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority) has hosted a meeting of the “PortForward” project, presented by the Mar.Te Sea-Land Logistics association, chaired by Marco Ferretti of Università Parthenope. In addition to President Pietro Spirito, several operators of the Naples port participated.

The EU-funded project is part of a larger Italian project to be carried out in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, USA, and won by the Campania team led by Mar.TE.

The intent is to define the competitiveness of the Campania port system focused on the territory, identifying methods to improve the sustainability of the ports, productivity of the docks and the traffic flows.

Pietro Spirito said, “Our adherence to the project is twofold: to create a close link between Port System Authorities (AdSPs), operators, apply research as it is today; use the analysis and proposals that will emerge from the research to improve the management of the AdSP. “

The next step will be a questionnaire for the operators of the port of Naples to understand the needs of individual businesses and then to elaborate the proposals.
