New cruise line between Burgas and Istanbul

Varna, Bulgaria (PortSEurope) May 31, 2018 – Port of Burgas is advancing a project for a new cruise line between Burgas and Turkish port city of Istanbul, Dian Dimov, director of Port Burgas said. The plan is for the new cruise line to operate three times a week with night trips between the two ports. The plan is for the use of cruise ships for 100
to 200 passengers. The port relies on state and municipal financial support for the realization of the project. According to Dimov, since 2016 Turkey subsidises cruise ships with $30 (€25.68) per passenger for ships with more than 1,000 people capacity and as of 2018 with $45 (€38.53) per passenger even for ships with a capacity of 100 people. This state aid covers the fuel cost. Port of Burgas will offer reduced port taxes for the new cruise line. Source: Dnevnik Copyright (C) PortSEurope. All Rights Reserved. 2018.
