Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Occidentale – January 10, 2020
The Ocean Alliance containerized shipowning alliance has presented the new configuration of its scheduled service network scheduled for 2020 which confirms the calls to the Italian ports of Genoa, La Spezia and Trieste already included in the 2019 planning, while it provides for the elimination of the calls to the port of Venice, hitherto included in the rotation of the AEM6 service China and South-East Asia with the Adriatic
The new programming does not include a direct call within the alliance network which is made up of the shipping companies CMA CGM, COSCO Shipping Lines, Evergreen Line and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL).
The port of Genoa will continue to be scaled by the two maritime services AEM1 and AEM2 which connect Asia with the Mediterranean and by the MENA transatlantic service which connects the ports of the western Mediterranean with those of the eastern coast of the USA.
In the Day 4 service network, approximately 320 container ships will be used for a total hold capacity of 3.76 million teu, compared to about 330 ships for a capacity of 3.8 million teu in the previous Day 3 programming.
