Over 5,000 representatives of the cruise industry will meet in Hamburg in September

Thousands of cruise industry experts and leaders will meet again in Hamburg at the tenth Seatrade Europe Cruise & River Cruise Convention in September – August 12, 2019

Seatrade Europe is the leading convention fair for the European cruise market. It brings together representatives of cruise lines, regional and worldwide cruise destinations and suppliers from all sectors of the sea and river cruise.

As the third largest cruise market in the world, Germany welcomed 2.18 million cruise passengers * in 2018. With an 11 per cent increase in passenger traffic and 8 per cent more ship calls in 2018 **, the Port of Hamburg is one of the leading cruise liners. The industry continues to grow, and Germany, still an important innovation hub and leader in implementing the technological and environmental reorientation of the cruise, is the ideal host for Seatrade Europe.

From 13 to 15 September, immediately after the congress, the city will also host the Hamburg Cruise Days with a varied day and night program. In the “Cruise Days Parade” on the 14th of September, gleaming illuminated ships sail down and down the Elbe in the direction of the North Sea. At the same time, the beautiful harbor edge of Hamburg is bathed in blue light: for the seventh year in a row, the spectacular light installation “Blue Port Hamburg” by internationally acclaimed light artist Michael Batz will illuminate the river and its shores.

This year, the new MARINE INTERIORS Cruise & Ferry Global Expo will complement the cruise congress at the Hamburg Messe. The exhibitors are companies dedicated to the interior design of cruise liners – from interior design and technical equipment to galleys, restaurants and bars on board.

For the Seatrade Europe and Marine Interiors events taking place in parallel at the Hamburg trade fair, long banners will be advertised in the surrounding streets. They create a unique and inspiring atmosphere that emphasizes the city’s prominent role in the European cruise industry.
