Barcelona, Spain (PortSEurope) September 13, 2019 – A delegation of the Catalan Association of Pig Producers (Asociación Catalana de Productores de Porcino (PORCAT) has visited Barcelona port to review its specialised facilities for the transport of meat products, which require controlled temperature transport services.
Head of International Relations and Promotion of the Port of Barcelona, Manel Galán, presented the port’s facilities, highlighting that the BEST (Hutchison) and APM Terminals container terminals and the multipurpose Port Nou have expanded the electrical connections for refrigerated containers by 70% this year.
Barcelona port also offers competitive regular rail connections with the main wholesale markets of Spain and Southern France.
Established in 1998, the Catalan Association of Pig Producers (PORCAT) is a business organization formed to represent, promote and defend the common interests of its partners and the pig sector.
