Málaga, Spain (PortSEurope) October 8, 2019 – Málagaport, a company associated with the Port Authority of Malaga in charge of the promotion and communication of the Port of Malaga, is to appoint Pilar Fernández-Fígares new manager of Málagaport.
Her work will focus on the development of strategies to boost cruise traffic and merchandise on the premises, as well as the coordination of the communication policy of Málagaport in relation to Autoridad Portuaria de Málaga (APM – Port Authority of Málaga) and support to the organization of the international fair Seatrade Med 2020.
Pilar Fernández-Fígares (1973) has a law degree from the University of Granada, with extensive experience in the legal sector.In addition, she held the position of Deputy Mayor of the Personnel and Resource Management Area of the City of Estepona and was Deputy of Human Resources and General Services in the Diputación de Málaga before joining as manager of Málagaport.
Málagaport supports business development and business activity in the fields of tourism, transport and commerce related to the port area, creating strategies and actions that improve the results of its activity and enhance its competitiveness at the local, national and international level.
The port entity assumes, in turn, a social commitment of an informative nature to publicize citizen spaces by establishing a close relationship with associations, public institutions and the media.
