Port Of Savona Hub Project Submitted For Consideration

Port of Savona hub project submitted for consideration

Genoa, Italy (PortSEurope) June 17, 2021 – The list of 44 works sent by Ministero delle infrastrutture e della mobilità sostenibili (Mims) to the Chambers for consideration of the parliamentary commissions, there is a viability project that closely concerns the port of Savona. The project “Viability of access to the Port Hub of Savona”, includes the extension of the Variante of the SS1 Aurelia (Aurelia
bis) beyond the Ricci junction, called “Svincolo Letimbro”, until it reconnects further south to via Stalingrado, at the track bundle of the Genoa-Ventimiglia railway. The overall length will be approximately 2940 meters, of which 2690 will be developed inside the gallery “Madonna degli Angeli”. The purpose of the project is to create a variant to the one that runs through the current town, designing a roadway that allows better accessibility for the means of transport directed to the port, thus avoiding transit within the municipalities of Albisola Superiore. and Albissola Marina. The work is part of a large infrastructure project worth 143 million euros already partially completed or under construction, which makes it possible to connect the airports of Savona and Vado Ligure with the motorway system. The intervention represents, in addition to the quadrupling of the Milan Rogoredo-Pavia section on the Milan-Genoa railway line and the upgrading of the Tortona-Voghera line, a fundamental piece to complete the mosaic of the TEN-T Genoa Rotterdam corridor.
