
Port of Venice published three-year plan

Venice, Italy (PortSEurope) December 16, 2021 – The Port Authority of Venice & Chioggia has detailed its three year plan – Piano Operativo Triennale 2022/2024. The managing authority is Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mare Adriatico Settentrionale (AdSP – Northern Adriatic Sea Port Authority). A total of €1.78 billion ($2 million) has been allocated for the period to redevelop the ports of Venice and Chioggia.
Approximately €1.5 billion is for the regeneration of the harbour cluster including investments for the temporary contribution of the cruises to Mestre, for the road and railway infrastructures of last mile of the area and for the realization of new goods terminals; €257.6 million for the renewable energy transition of the harbour cluster; €6.4 million for the realization of a new operational model of AdSP; €1.55 million for safety and security; and €2.8 million to strengthen the city-port relationship.
