Porto Nogaro, Italy (PortSEurope) February 11, 2019 – Porto Nogaro recorded a 21.5% rise in cargo traffic in 2018 to 138,000 tonnes, backed by the cooperation agreement signed in Ukraine with Mariupol port.
The traffic of Porto Nogaro is expected to double next year to about 400,000 tonnes, mainly iron that is used as a raw material at the steel mills in the industrial area of Aussa Corno.
The ships operating the Mariupol-Porto Nogaro line first arrive in Monfalcone, where 40% of the cargo is unloaded. With this system, thanks to the partial discharge, the ship raises the level of draft and is able to access Porto Nogaro.
Porto Nogaro is located in northeastern Italy, west of Monfalcone.
