Lisbon, Portugal (PortSEurope) May 15, 2018 – The National Union of Workers of the Administrations and Port Boards (SNTAJP – Sindicato Nacional dos Trabalhadores das Administrações e Juntas Portuárias) has called for a strike to be held between June 4-8 due to, what the union considers, a stagnation in the signing of the Collective Labor Agreement reached last December.
The strike aims at resuming the strike in accordance with our notice of strike of March 2018, suspended on March 28, at the request of the Minister of the Sea, with the objective of resolving the situation within four weeks. Incomprehensibly, all the deadlines have passed and the situation has not been progressed, said SNTAJP.
This notice of strike will cover workers from the port administrations of the ports of Viana do Castelo, Douro and Leixões, Aveiro, Figueira da Foz, Lisbon, Setúbal, Sines, the autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores and workers at the port of Sines.
