PSA International total container traffic rises 5.5% in 2016

Lisbon, Portugal (PortSEurope) April 3, 2017 – PSA International, which is present in Portugal through the concession of Terminal XXI of Sines port, announced its results for 2016, which show a growth of 5.5% in the total of containers transported in its terminals on a global scale. With a total of 67.63 million TEUs handled in 2016, PSA International achieved a growth of 5.5% over
the previous year. However, the company’s net profit fell by 7.5% to $835.49 million (€783.1 million). “Last year was a time of relentless challenges for ports and the shipping industry,” said Tan Chong Meng, the CEO of PSA International.
