Public Bodies Discuss Industry Development At Piombino Port

Piombino, Italy (PortSEurope) June 12, 2018  – At the Municipality of Piombino, a meeting has taken place with the mayor Massimo Giuliani and the deputy mayor Stefano Ferrini, Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Settentrionale (AdSP – North Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority), represented by the provincial delegate Claudio Capuano, and Confindustria of Livorno Massa Carrara with the general manager Umberto Paoletti, Ubaldo Vanni and Emanuele Bravin to discuss industry and SMEs in Piombino.

Attention also focused on the development of the port, taking stock of the many opportunities that this infrastructure can offer and current problems to be addressed.

Mayor Giuliani said that it is necessary to address in a systemic way between the two ports of Piombino and Livorno, between private operators, their representative associations and public institutions, the issues still open to follow the many expectations of development that the port of Piombino has rightly created following the huge investments made.

Ferrini emphasized the need to plan, in compliance with the roles of the various actors and in concert with the AdSP, the necessary actions for the various works to be completed or to be implemented to make the port diversify.

Both Livorno and Piombino ports come under the authority of Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Settentrionale (AdSP – North Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority), together with Portoferraio and Rio Marina.
