Baku, Azerbaijan (PortSEurope) July 12, 2017 – The head of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy Kanat Alpysbayev has held talks with Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan – Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekiston Temir Yullari Achilbay Ramatov on further cooperation and development of local railway transport. Issues include flexible tariff policies, increasing the volume of cargo transportation along the TITR, container trains organization and
the supply of Kazakh railroad engineering products in Uzbekistan. For six months of the volume of cargo transportation by rail between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan amounted to 7.554 million tons, which is 4% more than in the same period last year. In the first half of 2017, 156 container trains from China to Uzbekistan through the territory of Kazakhstan have been organized, while for the whole last year were proceeded 110 container trains. An agreement was reached on the timely provision of transportation of Uzbek fruit and vegetable products to Kazakhstan and Russia, as well as at the request of the Central Asian Trade House. In Baku, Alpysbaev and chairman of Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov discussed issues of further development of cooperation in the railway sector.
