From today, Wednesday 17 July, the port of Genoa has at its disposal the new Border Inspection Post (PIF), built by the SECH terminal with its own investment, on the areas on the edge of the container square – June 17, 2020 BIPs are peripheral offices of the Ministry of Health, authorized by the European Commission (EC), for veterinary checks on animals and products of
animal origin, coming from third countries and destined for EU markets. The new PIF building, which covers an area of 1,000 m², is structured in two completely separate areas, for checks on products intended for human and non-human consumption. The structure is equipped with six ramps for opening the containers and three cells with controlled temperature, at -20 ° C, -2 ° C and at room temperature, as well as laboratories for product analyzes, as well as offices and service spaces.
