Seville, Spain (PortSEurope) August 11, 2019 – Autoridad Portuaria de Sevilla (APS – Port Authority of Seville) is developing for new urban port district. It will consist of the transformation of the port area closest to Seville based on a model that favours the coexistence of port and city, and integrates port activity in the urban environment.
The Technical Office (Oficina Técnica) will design a master plan that will include among its objectives the adaptation of the Tablada pier (Muelle de Tablada ) to cruise traffic and the definition of a strategy for the implementation of productive, cultural and commercial activities that serve the city.
The Technical Office will propose a participatory approach that involves different agents that operate in the port area and to economic entities and social organisations committed to the proper functioning of the port. It will also define the space management model and, where appropriate, public-private collaboration for its development. The design of the new urban port district will value heritage architectural and industrial port of Seville, very present in the environment of the Las Razas Avenue (la Avenida de Las Razas) with cranes, sheds and ships used for la Exposición
Iberoamericana de 1929.
For the development of the works, a term of three years is estimated divided into four phases: the first, for the analysis and study of the frame of reference; the second, for the preparation of the master plan; the third, for the drafting and processing of required urban documents and, fourth, as a support phase for the work implementation. The maximum budget for the tender amounts to €550,000 (VAT excluded).
