Seville, Spain (PortSEurope) March 14, 2019 – Seville port has experienced an annual container traffic increase of 23% in January and February 2019, backed by a 42% growth in the rail container traffic, the president of Autoridad Portuaria de Sevilla (APS – Port Authority of Seville), Rafael Carmona, said.
In April 2018, Seville port launched a new rail line to the port of Sines in Portugal, promoted by the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) with the idea of achieving annual traffic of up to 10,000 containers. The activity of the line supported rail traffic in the first two months of 2019, while at the beginning of 2018 there was no such service.
