Livorno, Italy (PortSEurope) November 21, 2018 – The International Propeller Club has organised a business mission from Italian port authorities to visit Singapore.

Included is Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mar Tirreno Settentrionale (AdSP – North Tyrrhenian Sea Port Authority) President Stefano Corsini.

“An important contact point and a moment of contact to draw useful hints for the ports of our system”, so Stefano Corsini defines the trip he is preparing to make in Singapore on the occasion of the second mission to Asia organized by The International Propeller Club to which will be attended by 40 delegates from all over Italy, including representatives of nine Port System Authorities.

The program will be organized over three days (from November 20th to 23rd), rich in conferences, visits and b2b meetings. In particular, on 21 November, the delegation will visit the port of Singapore and will see closely how the project of the Tuas Terminal is developing, which envisages the construction of a new port area capable of handling up to 65 million TEU (+85 % compared to today).

Here is the full program of the mission:

Tuesday 20 November, 3.00 pm – Meeting of a delegation (Umberto Masucci, Alessandro Panaro, Head Maritime and Mediterranean Economy SRM and Prof. Massimo Deiana, University of Cagliari, Francesco Calza, Parthenope University, and Greta Tellarini, University of Bologna) with Prof. Chye Tan, President of the National University of Singapore

Wednesday 21 November, 09.00 – Conference “The Belt & Road Initiative: a vision of the Italian and Singapore Maritime Cluster” organized in collaboration with the National University of Singapore at the University and with the scientific partnership of SRM

Wednesday 21 November from 14.30 – Meeting with Andrew Tan, CEO MPA (Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore), and Chong Meg Tan, PSA Group Executive Officer and visit to the Pasir Panjag Terminal in Singapore. The day will end with a dinner with the Italian Ambassador HE Raffaele Langella, at YAN, National Gallery Singapore, offered by Banchero Costa

Thursday 22 November from 8.00 am – “Business Breakfast” at Tower Club Singapore organized by Banca Intesa Sanpaolo with Megraj Shah, General Manager Intesa Sanpaolo Singapore Branch and Massimo De Andreis, DG SRM, followed by the visit to Singapore Exchange and meeting with Chew Sutat , Executive Vice President and Head of Equities.

In the afternoon the delegation will then meet Simon Neo, regional director for Asia of the International Bunker Industry Association; Esben Poulsenn and Michael Phoon, respectively president and executive director of the Singapore Shipping Association; and Kenneth CHIA, executive director of the Singapore Maritime Foundation

Friday 23 November from 10.00 – Meeting at the Tower Club with the International Chamber of Commerce of Singapore and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and presentation of “Italian Logistics and Shipping – Focus on the North West Italy Logistics system” with the speeches by Riccardo Fireworks, Vice President of the National Propeller and President of the International Commission of Alsea), Gilberto Danesi (Managing Director of PSA Voltri Terminal Europa), Alessando Pitto (President Spediporto Genova), Alberto Banchero (President Assagenti Genova), Carla Roncallo, (President Adsp del Mar Ligure Orientale) and conclusions by Paolo Emilio Signorini (President Adsp of the Western Ligurian Sea) and Umberto Masucci.
