Suncruise Andalucía promotes cruise tourism

Motril, Spain (PortSEurope) May 9, 2020 – Suncruise Andalucía has presented its new brand image, ‘A Smart Cruise Port Destination’, with the aim of positioning cruise tourism in Andalusia as a benchmark in southern Europe. The Association made up of Andalusian ports of general interest is promoting its digital communication to contribute to the recovery of the sector. The President of SunCruise Andalucía, José García
Fuentes, also President of the Port Authority of Motril, commented that this digital communication action, reflects the renewal of the activity of the association. He highlighted that Andalusia has a great cultural, historical, gastronomic and commercial heritage, and we intend to put it in value within the cruise industry. The manager of the Association, Esther Molina, underlined the need to have a platform to communicate in coordination with the different profiles of social networks of the Association.  The Association is carrying out new lines of work focused on the relationship of the ports with the territory, the sustainable development of cruise activity and the promotion of Andalusian destinations. To carry out the strategic plan, an Action Plan was approved, the actions of which will be on the proposed lines of work. Some of this actions are the collaboration in Seatrade Cruise Med 2020, the international meeting of the cruise sector in the Mediterranean. This event is an opportunity to position the Andalusian ports on the world cruise map, making our destination much more interesting. And the creation of a Cruise Tourism Observatory, to analyze the current situation of the cruise industry and work on successive updates to facilitate strategic and business decision-making for the agents involved, such as shipping companies, ports, tour operators, among others.
