Tarragona, Spain (PortSEurope) June 18, 2018 – Port de Tarragona has acquired 150,000 m² in Ciudad del Transporte-Puerta Centro to develop an intermodal logistics platform – Terminal Intermodal Port Centro.
The president of the Port of Tarragona, Josep Andreu, and the president of Hercesa Inmobiliaria SA and DTL (Desarrollos Tecnológicos y Logísticos SA), Juan José Cercadillo, have ratified the agreement between Puerta Centro-Ciudad del Transporte and the Port of Tarragona, a project that will be an authentic added value and a turning point for the creation of the main intermodal platform of the Iberian Peninsula.
The new hub will to channel the flows of national and international merchandise between rail and road to the seaports and the centre of Spain.
Josep Andreu highlighted the effort and joint effort that has taken place in the last seven years to achieve this goal and wished to thank the role of the administrations and, in particular, the state ports authority, Puertos del Estado.
